Why I do It (EOS, that is)
Why I do It (EOS, that is)
Why I wake up in the morning looking forward to my sessions
About 8 years ago, I thought starting my own marketing agency would be easy. I’d just spent 17 years leading innovative, winning teams across the Fortune 100. Big brands, huge wins, respect and awards. Running my own agency should be easy, right?
It was, for a minute. Then, I woke up and realized I wasn't enjoying it anymore. I was drowning in the day-to-day, issues were piling up, and I was haphazardly duct-taping my business and life together. I couldn't give my team the autonomy I knew they needed. My earlier successes were rooted in giving my teams space to run, but I couldn't do it in my own business.
What was wrong with me?
I bitched and moaned to people. Someone finally said, “Have you read Traction or checked out EOS?” I hadn’t, said I would, but didn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Then, three weeks later, I was complaining to someone else - who didn’t know the first person - and guess what they said? “Have you heard of Traction and EOS?”
OK, fine. Once is a fluke; twice is a sign. I dove in. What surprised me was the
simplicity of the Entrepreneurial Operating System. I’d worked with big, sprawling strategic frameworks for years. I couldn't believe how lean, streamlined, and simple EOS was. No fat, all protein.

I plunged forward, embraced it, and did the work, stumbling my way through it, but I was committed. That commitment brought clarity and confidence. I kept at it like a workout regimen: I did the reps, focused on my form, and pushed myself.
